Rebuilding a house into a smart home

Lavishly tucked in its own corner of tropical paradise, in Cocoplum, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Coral Gables, this enchanting smart home is welcoming its owners not only with the peace and serenity offered by its location, but comfort, entertainment and a great level of security. Thanks to a careful planning before its rebuild, the house benefited from a selection of reliable home automation systems.

Technology design and integration

During its re-construction, the home owners were looking to incorporate a smart home system to offer them a great level of entertainment, with superior audio distribution indoors, at the pool, outdoor patio and boat dock, as well as the latest video technology available, future-proofing their investment. The choice was clear, Crestron Sonnex® Multiroom Audio and Crestron DigitalMedia.

Just as important for the home owners, was the lighting system and the motorized shades and curtains, as they were interested to achieve a clean architectural look, with as minimum impact to the interior design as possible. The Crestron Horizon keypads together with Crestron Touch Panels, were a perfect fit, as they provide easy intuitive control of all the systems, while enhancing the interior design features of the home.

The glass wine cellar was outfitted with an LED lighting system, which showcases its contents in a different light, according to the occasion and time of day.

Security of its owners is assured not just by state-of-the-art alarm system, surveillance cameras, and status-monitored doors, but also by an enterprise-grade network, keeping all the devices connected and the intruders out of reach.

A complete synergy between cutting-edge technology, rich interiors and enhanced security, makes this one of our favorite projects.
