Project overview
This isn't a condo. It's a vertical residence.
A 4-story penthouse rising above Brickell Key - one of downtown Miami's most prestigious island addresses - with the technical complexity of a corporate high-rise and the soul of a private home. Our team worked alongside the architect and interior designer from the earliest planning stages, mapping every technology layer before the rebuild began.
What emerged is one of the most ambitious residential integrations we've ever delivered.
The main living space has a centerpiece you won't find anywhere else.
A rotating glass wall divides the living room from the family room - and embedded inside it is an 80" display. The TV rotates a full 360 degrees, visible from either room, following the homeowners as they move through the space. It's not a mounted screen on a wall. It is the wall.
Crestron video distribution feeds any source to any screen in the penthouse - including this one.
The private elevator isn't just transportation between floors. It's an AV zone.
An integrated display streams any source from the Crestron system - or cues up panoramic views of downtown Miami that shift with the time of day. From the ground floor to the rooftop, every ride is an experience. A detail that says everything about how deeply this penthouse was considered.
The lighting design in this penthouse operates on a different scale.
Over 100 individual lighting circuits run through the Crestron system - from task lighting to accent to ambient. More than 30 custom scenes and presets let the homeowners shift the mood of any floor, any room, any moment with a single tap. Dimmable RGB LED strips in ceiling coves across several areas are independently controlled via a dedicated DMX server - adding color, drama, and atmosphere that changes with the occasion.
Coordinated motorized shades and blackouts manage the natural light across every glass-wrapped wall, working in concert with the lighting system so the two are never in conflict.
The top floor belongs to music.
A fully soundproofed recording studio - isolated from every adjacent room - gives the homeowners a professional-grade creative space at the peak of their residence. Crestron audio and smart controls manage the room's environment, from lighting to playback, while the soundproofing ensures nothing bleeds in or out.
Below the studio, a private library offers a quieter retreat - automated lighting, integrated audio, and the kind of solitude that only comes from living four stories above the city.
A penthouse this complex needs infrastructure that thinks like a building, not a home.
A Cisco networking backbone delivers enterprise-grade reliability across all four floors. Ruckus wireless access points ensure seamless Wi-Fi coverage from the ground level to the rooftop studio - no dead zones, no floor transitions, no compromises. A Panasonic PBX phone system with 10 extensions and up to four incoming lines rounds out the communications layer.
Honeywell security and surveillance protects every floor. Crestron climate control keeps each level independently balanced. The result is a technology layer with the sophistication of a corporate tower and the warmth of a private home.
The master suite features Crestron lighting scenes, motorized roller shades framing Biscayne Bay, and iPad control at the bedside. The master bathroom pairs automated lighting with motorized shade privacy. Guest bedrooms follow the same standard - keypads, shades, scenes - because in this penthouse, no floor gets less attention than any other.
The kitchen and dining areas are integrated with distributed audio and custom lighting presets. Every room, every floor, every transition point was planned as one continuous system.
Brickell Key is a private island connected to the heart of downtown Miami - a enclave of waterfront towers with unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay, the Miami skyline, and the Atlantic beyond. It's one of the most exclusive addresses in South Florida, defined by privacy, proximity, and elevation.
This penthouse sits at the top of it. Four floors of living. One invisible system. A home that runs like a building, feels like a retreat, and loves you back.
