Project overview
Thirty stories above Biscayne Bay, every inch matters — and every window is a wall of light.
When the owners of this Brickell Key condo decided to remodel, they weren't just updating finishes. They wanted a home that could tame the Miami sun, disappear a television into a mirror, turn a living room into a theater, and do it all without a single visible device breaking the design.
That's the kind of problem we love solving.
In a glass-wrapped high-rise, light is the first thing you see — and the hardest thing to control.
We designed a comprehensive motorized shade system that gives the homeowners precision command over every window in the unit. Blackout shades in the media room drop to create a true cinematic environment. Automated drapery tracks in the master bedroom deliver privacy at the touch of a button. In the kitchen and dining room, sheer and opaque layers work together — filtering glare while preserving those Biscayne Bay views that make Brickell Key worth living in.
Every shade coordinates with the Crestron lighting system, so natural and artificial light always work as one.
The media room transforms on demand.
Motorized blackout shades eliminate every trace of ambient light. Crestron audio and video distribution deliver an immersive home theater experience — then recede completely when the shades come back up and the room returns to everyday living. No permanent theater aesthetic. No gear on display. Just a room that becomes whatever the moment calls for.
An iPad interface gives effortless control over every scene, source, and shade position from anywhere in the unit.
A hidden mirror TV hangs in plain sight — elegant glass when powered off, a full display when needed. Wireless Crestron dimmers replaced bulky switch plates throughout the condo, giving every wall a clean, uninterrupted line.
In the master bedroom, layered lighting scenes shift from bright morning energy to warm evening calm — controlled by a bedside interface, never a bank of switches. These are the details that separate a smart home from a truly integrated one.
Inside a purpose-built AV cabinet, the condo's entire technology layer runs silently.
Crestron handles automation, audio routing, and video distribution. A Cisco networking backbone delivers enterprise-grade reliability to every system and device. Ruckus wireless ensures seamless Wi-Fi coverage across the full footprint — no dead zones, no buffering, no compromises. Honeywell manages safety with integrated alarm and monitoring.
Everything housed in one cabinet. Everything out of sight.
A condo remodel is an exercise in restraint. Space is finite. Walls are shared. Every decision echoes.
This project proves that even within those constraints, technology can feel limitless — when it's designed around the way people actually live. The views stay unobstructed. The surfaces stay clean. The home just knows.
That's technology that loves you back.
